The burning of effigies in Asia is common and more people have burnt effigies of loosing cricket captains. It does not make to the front pages because it would not sell papers.
There were about 20 people from Al Muhajoroun demonstrating outside a mosque and the papers claim that lot of Muslims are demonstrating. Khomenei is a Shia and his fatwa does not hold any credibility with Sunnis.
I agree that there are Muslim lunatics just as there are non Muslim lunatics but is ridiculous to claim that the Muslim World is in uproar over the knighthood just because the Iranians and the Pakistanis are getting excited about this.
