Other TV station closed by Chavez regime

The Hugo Chavez government will strike against the press freedom next week on Monday 28, when his government will close the Venezuelan largest and most important TV station, RCTV.

Since Chavez won the presidential elections in 1998, his government has characterized for low tolerance against dissidence and hostility/aggression to Venezuela’s private mass media and reporters.

Closing RCTV, the Chavez government will begin a road of private media demolition, violating the international law, the human rights of thousand of workers and putting another hurt in the fragile Venezuelan democracy.

The US government has expressed its concern about the political situation in Venezuela. The Chavez regime has the support of the Bolivian and Cuban governments, these governments accuse Washington to be responsible of the Latin America problems, with this rhetoric Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia governments justify the annihilation and repression of any type of internal dissidence.
