Al gore and global warming

When Al Gore starts taking actions to reduce his energy consumption, estimated to be $30,000 per year, then I'll listen to what he has to say. No one disputes the case for conserving energy. I've been using fluorescent lamps and solar water heating for years, before it became fashionable.

The current trend is for energy hogs to purchase 'carbon offsets'. These funds would be used to invest in alternative energy types. No oversight, no regulation. Buying carbon offsets rather than taking direct action does nothing but buy a sense of relief for the purchaser.

This concept is totally offensive, especially when the entity that sells those offsets is chaired by Al Gore. So called global warming is strictly a scientific issue. Politicians and profiteers need not chime in. Al Gore invented the internet and never made a dime.
This time it will be different.
