How can Palestinians guarantee security when they have no state?

There is an independent Palestinian Government in Gaza and not a single Israeli civilian or soldier after the Jewish pull-out. The Palestinians are the most internationally aided people in the world and Israel supplies them with water, electricity and access to all its hospitals. The Pals also receive funds from the vast Arab world. How can you guarantee security in a society that channels its resources to terror and arms?

Any palestinian government is doomed to failure because they can't even have peaceful differences amongst themselves. How can anyone expect them to have a peaceful solution with a group of people that they hate?

Can Hamas and Fatah work together? Of course not. They probably wouldn't live on the same planet with each other if they had any choice. I do not think Palestinian politicians have the ability to wrest power back from the gunmen. Let's get real, shall we? The biggest obstacle to peace in Palestine is not Israel, it is the Palestinians themselves. Is this the beginning of the end of the unity government? Did they ever really get started?
