I have read increasingly dire reports recently that predict the implosion of Social Security in the very near future. The money has gone into supporting they that won't work at all and a number of people lawyers got seen in court as disabled according the ADA. If was meant to support older people who had paid in at least twenty six years before beginning to withdraw at retirement of age sixty five.
Then it went down to sixty and fifty nine and a half. Then it went to disabled who may have paid in only one pay stub payment.
People who can't get SSI get a job say in a factory and within weeks conveniently become hurt on the job-usually back injury- that would disable them by a physio-mental process per their lawyer. They get workers comp and finally lump sum settlement with that agency for a few thousand based on their salary at the factory. Then they go on to get SSDI through soc. security.
The money was scammed out by the crookery of lawyers and crooked Americans who won't work.
