British teacher jailed in Sudan for insulting religion

A British teacher jailed in Sudan for letting her class name a teddy bear Muhammad has spoken of her "ordeal", after returning to the UK. Mrs Gibbons, a mother-of-two, was arrested on 25 November and later given a 15 day sentence after being convicted of insulting religion for allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear Muhammad.

Such an incident highlights the big differences between different countries. This teacher clearly stated that she prefers to continue working in Sudan, and we should understand and respect the reasons she wanted to work there in the first place. We have much to be grateful for her life commitment towards bringing about harmony between Sudan and the rest of the world.
